Ryce Visits a Touch of France in Second Life, Chateau de Roissy

Although beautiful Chateau de Roissy is designed to look like a classic touch of France, it is a German role play sim. French flags, signage, and other touches such as a very well done patisserie are everywhere. The fountains are particularly well done, and there is a fountain at every corner. The interiors of the buildings are well done as the exteriors -- as are the plantings and other foliage.  I made sure to join the requested group -- and although I have a basic knowledge of German and can speak in it, I did not have to use it when I visited. This is a very pretty sim, and highly recommended for a visit.

All Photography was taken with Windlight Sky Setting (SS) Atmospheric 15:00 Cloudy 2 which is included in the Firestorm viewer as an option.

Ryce Visits The Gorean Gay Portal for Second Life: The Incredible Castle of Asperiche Island

The castle on Asperiche Island, which is focused toward Gorean roleplay for gay residents of Second Life and bills itself as a "Gay Gor Hub", is truly impressive. The interior and exterior of this detailed build shimmer in the light, great care has been taken when selecting the textures for the castle and scaling the rooms and components of the build. This is one of the best builds ever in Second Life and highly recommended for a visit.

Asperiche Island is a member of The Gay Archipelago.

Ryce Visits the Broken Dreams Project

The Broken Dreams Project, a place to remember and reflect on all the young lives that have been lost as a result of  bullying, has opened in Second Life.  Jared Palianta has built and funded the project.

Jared states that the Broken Dreams project is dedicated to victims of bullying who have taken their own lives. An epidemic of bullying against LGBT teens and other at-risk youth has swept the United States and other nations. Social Media has exacerbated the ability of bullies to make lives unbearable for those who do not have the support they need.  The only alternative for some is suicide.

The Walls of Remembrance Listing Lives Lost to Bullying
This gardens and remembrance walls are both tranquil and upsetting. An eternal flame burns to the memories of those young people no longer with us. When you visit, please consider making a donation at one of the many collection boxes at the gardens to help Jared defray some of the costs.
