Fotosketcher is a free shareware s program that you can download - and converts photographs into about 20 different types of oil paintings, drawings, pastels, and water color art pieces. It is one of the best free programs I have seen, and I am showing some effects on a portrait of Ryce Skytower that I took in December

You can chose one of several textured background like I have (the light texture option) to simulate canvas if you want. It is very easy to use. All you have to do is upload your image and experiment with various texture and paint style combinations and see which ones you like. I am using the custom color framing choice.

Brue Gothly's RetroSwim is making quite a splash these days with realistic masculine swimwear that comes in all sorts of funky/cool patterns and colors that are a throwback to the 50's, 60's and 70's.
They cost $175 each. The Power Green Swimmie above looks great on Ryce; he tells me that green is his favorite color.

Brue also has a custom line of branded swimwear that starts at $200. I will be showing some of Brue's other designs in a later review.

My biggest Second Life hit on You Tube, with 13,000 hits contains nothing but poorly sized photographs of Ryce Skytower. It is also my most poorly produced video, with boring content (unless you really like to look at Ryce's sculpted torso) and poor production values. However, it does do what it is supposed to so -- show how different lighting conditions affect avatar visualization.

I am showing it here in honor of Ryce's third rez day today.

I did this video (actually a slide show accompanied by the music of British boy bad A-1 from about 12 years ago) to demonstrate some of the different light settings available in the now defunct Emerald viewer. These were not well known two years ago. The same settings are available in the Phoenix and other viewers today in the "advanced sky" settings in the environmental editor in the World tab. I give the name of each sky setting along with the appropriate image.

Here is what I wrote for a description:

The Emerald viewer is an optional viewer for the Virtual World of Second Life. It has over 50 new environmental light settings available in advanced sky editor. Model Ryce Skytower demonstrates how these light settings look on his skin. There are subtle yet very dramatic differences.

Ryce Skytower's Second Life is two years old today.

It probably is the most widely read blog about an alt in Second Life. But since Ryce is one of the few alts who broadcasts his status, no one can really know for sure.

About 80% of this content also runs in Eddi Haskell's Second Life. Where this blog comes in handy is inrunning nude and sexy photographs of Ryce and others that I cannot run in my my main blog, since I do not want a mature rating over at my main blog.

Since Ryce Skytower's Second Life was created two years ago, it has had over 40,000 hits and 187 postings. This is small compared to the over 750,000 hits and nearly 3500 postings that Eddi Haskell's Second Life has gained in the nearly 3 years it has been published, but not bad overall.

Here is the first posting that Ryce ran in this blog two years ago, after being around for a year as my alt - a video showing photographs from his first year. Ryce looks more innocent and less slick in these early photos -- but his shape and skin have not changed over time.

Choosing a New Picture of Ryce for The New Blog Masthead

Winning Photo for New Masthead

In case you have noticed not, this blog has a new Masthead image showing Ryce and his white behind which needs to be tanned (or as his Spanish nickname goes "culo blanco". I used Photoshop on the image above taken at Squirt Beach to clean up some of the rough edges, and then applied a border and lettering with free Scribus open-source page layout program (which has many of the capabilities of similar programs from Quark and Adobe).

It was hard selecting the image to use-- I want to show you some alternatives I had to work with below. The reddish hue Ryce is attractive but not as realistic, so I chose a more neutral color to use as a photographic base.
